Mindfulness is defined as the fundamental human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
Highlight; Fully Present, Awareness, Not Reactive or Overwhelmed.
At glance this is a simple practice and it comes naturally to every individuals.
The question is how often does it come naturally,?
I don’t know the answer but I know that our millennial is more distracted from the present moment than ever. We are the victims of this age technology.
But it is not over with us we can set aside some time to be intentionally mindful.
From the following practices of being mindful, you can tell that even a layman can be mindful.
1. Know what mindfulness is and isn’t.
– be an unbiasobserver.
2. Set aside some time.
– begin now.
3. Observe the present moment as it is.
– don’t be judgemental
4. Release expectations.
– Drop your agenda and let things be.
5. Keep it simple.
– A key is to keep it constant.
